Basic cover is available at 1% of the declared parcel value and covers risks like vehicle accidents, fire, natural calamities, and third-party theft—ideal for standard documents, books, and non-fragile items. All-risk cover at 0.1-0.5% of declared value extends protection to include mishandling damage, water ingress, electronic failure, and mysterious disappearance—recommended for high-value electronics, jewelry, lab specimens, and fragile gifts. Insurance must be declared at the time of booking; retrospective coverage is not available. The declared value should reflect the actual replacement cost, and you may be asked to provide purchase invoices or valuation certificates for items above ₹50,000.
In the event of loss or damage, Rehousing follows the IBA-approved bill-for-claim format to ensure transparent, accountable settlements. You must notify us within 7 days of delivery (or non-delivery) by submitting a written claim via email or registered post, attaching the original GST invoice, insurance certificate, pickup receipt, proof of delivery (if applicable), photographs of damaged items, and repair/replacement estimates. Our claims team inspects the documentation, cross-references it with our pickup and delivery condition reports (photos clicked by couriers at both ends), and initiates the settlement process. Claims are typically settled within 30–45 days of approval, with payment made via NEFT to your registered bank account. For high-value claims above ₹1 lakh, a joint survey with the insurance underwriter may be required.
To minimize claim disputes, our couriers are trained to click detailed condition photos at pickup—capturing all six sides of the parcel, any pre-existing marks or dents, and the overall packaging quality. At delivery, the recipient is encouraged to inspect the parcel in the courier's presence and note any visible damage on the POD device before signing.
